Queens’ Design locks out the podium at Suzuka!

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

Our debut could not have gone any better this past Wednesday, with a 1-2-3-5 finish in the first round of the Racing Club International Diamond Drive Cup at Suzuka Circuit.

All four Queens’ Design drivers were designated into the Pro class, all who have qualified in the top 6 overall. Aenore Rose took the pole with a blazing 1:58.895, with Mia Rose placed right beside her in 2nd with a 1:59.167, Kainé Luna placing 3rd with a 2:00.237 and Ruby Acosta starting 6th with a 2:00.445.

Come the green flag Aenore led the charge throughout the whole way, but it wasn’t without Mia keeping on her tail following by just a second or less. Kainé was in a heated chase for 3rd after being overtaken on the first lap until Sara Dove unfortunately spun off into the grass at Dunlop, placing her 3rd while consistently managing the gap to 4th place driver Nicole Fox throughout the race.

Ruby was the first to take her mandatory stop in 5th, with the leading trio pitting together a few minutes later. Aenore gained a gap during her pit cycle over Mia due to only a slight pit error, and quickly ballooned the gap throughout the 2nd stage of the race going through traffic. Unfortunately Mia had sustained damage while passing a lapped car, but was able to race at full pace with the damage not playing a huge factor in the long run. While Kainé was sitting comfortably in 3rd during the final stint, Ruby was locked in a chase with competitor Nicole Fox for a potential top 4 lock out. Coming to the finish, Aenore ended up dominating the race with a confident 1st place, with Mia trailing not too far behind in 2nd. Kainé piloted a consistent race throughout the 60 minutes, placing herself 3rd in her debut eSports appearance. Ruby wasn’t able to nab 4th from Nicole Fox, but was only a second away when crossing the line in 5th.

Our next race comes to Hungaroring next Wednesday on February 9th, with the whole team looking to replicate their fantastic debut performance and perhaps find a way to get all 4 drivers together at the top! We hope to see all our supporters there!
